How to claim strike pay

Please follow these instructions to claim strike pay from Unite:

Permanent Staff

  1. You must obtain a copy of your pay slip which shows deductions have been made for strike action. This can be downloaded from NHS Electronic Staff Record (ESR). ESR can be accessed at this link: https://my.esr.nhs.uk/dashboard/web/esrweb
  2. The payslip should have text at the bottom in the box marked “Messages from Employer” saying “Pay reduced by 1 day due to Industrial Action from……”. You need the pay slip to show that money has been deducted for strike action and that you are eligible to claim.
  3. You need to download a copy of the “Strike Pay Application form” which can be downloaded by clicking the button below.
  4. You will need your Unite membership number, your NI number, Employee number (from your payslip) and bank account details to complete the form. You can submit the form electronically via email so you do not need to print it out and sign it. If you do not know your Unite membership number, please email us at gsttunite@gmail.com to request it, giving your full name and address so we can locate you in our records.
  5. Once you have completed the form, you need to email the form along with a copy of your payslip to LE.Financestrike@unitetheunion.org
  6. The strike pay will then be paid in to your account with 7-10 working days after submitting the strike pay form and payslip.
